Most people know about P.T. or physical therapy and they also know that many chiropractors and P.T.'s have decompression tables (fancy traction table). As I'm sure you are aware there are many pain medications, anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxants that you get as a prescription to help with back pain. And to a lesser degree ice and hot packs and of course the assorted gels and creams that help with pain.
There goal is to help you reduce or elminate your back pain. Good goal - there is no doubt.
Indulge me for a brief moment. Lets say your foundation of your house as been slowly on one side has been deteriorating and has now droped 3 inches lower than the other sides of the foundation. Would it be reasonable to expect problems above the deteriorated foundation?
How about creaky floors, stuck doors and windows, cracks in the drywall and maybe even trouble with your roof rafters.... could all of these issues (symptoms/SECONDARY CONDITIONS) be the result of the problem of the structural abnormality with the foundation?
So YOU have options, you can call Mr. Fix it to place a nail in the squeaky floors, oil up the doors and windows, place some spackle on the cracked drywall. BUT you and I both realize that isn't going to correct the underlying PRIMARY Structural Problem - now is it?
Remodeling Table.....
In our office we look for structural abnormalities of the spine. Your spine is the "foundation" or "framework" of your body. When your spine is outside the normal range, this is a Primary Condition that over time can lead to Secondary Conditions... i.e. back, neck pain, headaches, CTS, etc.
The remodeling table is used to direct your spine to back with in normal range. Without the Remodeling table correcting abnormal spinal structure is extremely difficult.
The Remodeling table places you in a corrective position and slowly over a controlled timed frame redirects your spine back to a normal range or in some cases in a better position - yet not corrected completely. Patient factors that affect correction include: amount of damage, health of the patient, tolerance, compliance and skill of the doctor.
Our remodeling tables are precision equipment that uses degrees of measurement to tailor our correction forces. This is important for correction of your lumbar spine, which as you may know is elliptical in shape. Because of the unique curvature of the lumbar spine, the Remodeling table is able to adapt and compensate for abnormal curvatures and re-direct or remodel back to with in the normal range.
There are limitations.....
to the Remodeling Table, it's not for pulled muscles, it's not medical traction or long axial distraction ( straight line pulling to relieve disc pressure) and it's not decompression (same as long axial traction). Also, the Remodeling Table must be used in conjunction with our Specific Spinal Corrections and our Complementary Recommendations.
Because, the specific spinal correction is designed to decrease pain, increase range of motion and decrease muscle spasm. And to a greater degree help reduce nerve interruption. Think of the satellite receiver on your roof and the cables that come to the box on top of your TV. If those wires were disturbed or interfered with - then what kind of signal would you expect on the TV? Exactly garbled.
The specific spinal correction helps to free up your nervous system allowing better communication between your brain and your body or as you know it .... the mind body connection.
You may be asking, "What caused the foundation to shift in the first place?"
Great question. Here is a great answer. Maybe the foundation was not built properly, ie a flaw. May be routine maintenance of the property was neglected for a few years. May be a trauma, such as an earth quake. What ever the cause, this must be addressed and compensated for with our complementary recommendations.
You see Specific Spinal Corrections and Remodeling Tables (part of our Structural Rehabilitation) must be combined with our Complementary Recommendations. It's easy to understand, think of a outstanding dinner your mother or family would make - each ingredient working or combining to create a master piece of a meal.
It's no different with our care, each ingriendent brings it's own flavor yet works as a whole for the dish. Leave one ingriendent out and the dish is not complete, add more than what's necessary and it's not the same. (can you tell I'm hungry ;).
Have a great day.
