So, why do I offer this challenge? How could this possibly relate to a health care provider - such as a Structural Chiropractor? Is this just a ploy to get you to read my thought stimulating blog (maybe :))?
No one has ever collected on my challenge - EVER.
Before I tell you why NO ONE can do it, let me tell you why I have a 2x4 in my office.
Your spine, is more than the bones in your back. Your spine is engineering brilliance. What? Yes - you read that correctly engineered brilliance, BECAUSE your spine not only PROTECTS your personal operating system (brain and spinal cord) but also serves as the inner frame work for all your muscles to gain leverage from and (deep breath) also allows you to move, for some - gracefully. Others, like myself we have two left feet.
What's with the wood?
Getting there - hold on. Engineers copied our spines bio-mechanics - specifically the archs in our body, from the arch in our feet to the most important arch - the arch in our cervical spine or neck.
Look around, at all the bridges and buildings - they all have arches. Arches are there for FLEXIBILITY and STABILITY. Arches are NORMAL to have in bridges and YOUR spine.
"The human vertebral column, or spinal column, is a highly versatile mechanism and displays all the rigidity, strength, and leverage required in the jib of a crane. In contrast, it is extremely elastic and flexible. The vertebral column exhibits more varied functions than any other unit of the human body.
The small bones of the spine are called vertebrae and are designed to fit together in an S-shape. This column of curves is balanced so that the weight of the human body is evenly distributed throughout the spine. If these curves are out of balance, the vertebrae are pushed out of line, placing abnormal stress on the nerve pathways, muscles, and soft tissues of the spine." (thanks to Keith Wassung - author, lecturer)
No arch or reduced or even reversed indicates ABNORMAL, which leads to instability, which may lead to SECONDARY CONDITIONS - such as: back pain, neck pain, headaches.
Q: Why the wood?
A: It's rigid, it has no arch - it will BREAK if you try and bend it by hand.
MEANING - as you know NOW - if your spine is rigid (like the 2x4) and has loss it's normal arches, then is it any surprise when your spine fails you? No! Blown discs, bulges have a beginning - that beginning is the loss of curve or arches in your spine.
This loss of normal curves abnormally affects your nervous system creating an obstruction to healing. Our goal in our office is to remove this obstruction to healing and teach you how to PROTECT your spine and it's precious operating system (your nerves and spinal cord).
What to do?
If you have considered all the common solutions and are still looking for a solution - then you need to call our office for a complimentary consult.
I may not be able to help, your condition may be too far gone. But, if I can help - then there is work to be done and time is not on your side. ASAP should be entering your mind, if it is, then call my office to set up a time so we can talk. Bring all records, advanced imaging of your spine and all recommendation from other doctors. We will review with you your options and answer any questions. Better to be informed.
Have a GREAT Day
