Happy Holidays... Tis the season to overindulge.... and why not - It's The HoliDAZE. I'll start my diet in the new year, I'll take care of that health issue later (it can wait.... are you sure?). I'm not a shrink or a life improvement expert....(I know a great expert: Marc Swerdlick @ MindVirus), what I do KNOW is how your poor holiDAZE choices will harm your health.
The monumental effort it will take to decide to take action and then actually TAKING that ACTION.... however most people take action without a plan.
Look at the common New Year's resolution: "I want to lose XX pounds". The common plan is: eat better and work out. How about going to one of those amazing "boot-camp" type programs?
Does this sound familiar?
So... most people will go to the gym or class for a month (usually sign up for a year) and in Mid-February the gym is back to the normal level .....half empty.
Why do people fail so miserably?
Your plan sucks.
Or if you like doctor speak.... (ever wonder why most doctors are overweight?- sorry got sidetracked) Did you get your measurements? You know, weight, body fat percentage, cholesterol - HDL's/LDL's, blood glucose, how about max Vo2, strength testing. Do you have metabolic syndrome X?
You, KNOW.... to get where you want to go... you first have to know where you are starting from. Most people will put more effort in planning a trip to Disney.
Okay, you now know your levels are pathetic, which is why you are taking steps to improve (good job).
Next, do you know what exercise you need that fits your current health and gets you closer to your goal without causing you injuries (NOT.... the health you where in in High School NO one CARES)? If you don't you're in trouble.
Diet program?
Does your program include what and what not to eat and WHY? When to eat and food pairing? What foods to eat at certain times and what foods help you to lose weight. How about foods that cause you NOT to lose weight. We all know the foods that causes you to gain weight. How about before, during and after training food intake? How about supplements? Whey protein right? What if your lactose intolerant, and your a guy who doesn't want to take soy - what then? Energy drinks.... they must be healthy, because their sold in "Health Stores and Gyms" (Wait their is a bridge in Brooklyn that just went for sale...CHEAP). Do you need energy drinks and which one IS healthy? Do you know what exercise footwear is best for your spine and type of activity?
This is why 70% (I'm being conservative) fail to take off the weight and keep it off, not will power, NOT GENETICS..... NO $%^&$* plan. Yes, even if you have an under-active thyroid YOU too can benefit from the proper plan - that takes your health issue into account.
It's easy to correct.
Admit your way sucks.... then seek out help. No shame in asking for help... actually it's incredibly bold, smart and UNCOMMON. We can help you, we know great trainers, wonderful gyms and we know about diet, supplements, exercise and Normal Structural Bio-mechanics.
I know nothing about fixing cars, I know who does and he outlines a plan of care for my car and what I need to do and exactly when... I NEED TO DO THEM. Your health deserves a plan ....as a bare minimum. Does this make sense?
We offer you a plan. And, if you currently have a plan - you are way ahead, BUT we could probably make what ever plan your doing BETTER.
We are not for everyone, and most will be offend by my blog. However, if you want to get off the yo-yo, and you want a step by step plan, then we are the place to at least - CHECK OUT.
If you are saying this makes sense, then call us for a Health Check Consult, it's a conversation not a commitment.
Happy Thanksgiving....
